The passion for crochet dresses and old buildings

You’ve been warned, like it or not, Summer 2015 has been the 70’s summer, or neo 70’s if you prefer, with its classical ingredients: suede, fringes, flares, but as guest stars crochet and lace in many versions: tops, bikinis, accessories and dresses…and here we are, the dresses.

Yes, dresses for me are sort of an obsession, because they’re womanly and easy to match and accessorize and, above all, they’re versatile. If on top of that, they are see-through and in lace, how could you not buy one, or two, or maybe three of them?

Today’s dress is perfect on top of your bikini with flip-flops and a turban for your super chic happy hour by the shore, or with high heels to take pictures in an old abandoned building, why not?

The setting chosen for our shooting, or better, where we chose to sneak in, is an abandoned cement factory, built in 1898 just behind a railway. It was decorated and refined in Liberty style to properly match the houses around, then during the war years it was abandoned and never reopened.
We think it is gorgeous: its nicked walls, its light and shadows, that sense of abandonment and charm at the same time. As a woman, it would be a 40’s diva with red lips and intentionally messy hair, that slightly snob and mischievous look, but that in the end doesn’t take herself too seriously. As a runway, it would be the one by Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton 2013. As an album, it would be “I’m in the Mood for Love” by Louis Armstrong. But it is an old building that keeps telling stories through its decadent and refined appearance.
