When a pair of wings is not enough

What would you do with a pair of wings?
I would fly away from rambling speeches, divisions, meannesses, from ugly clothes and ugly shoes, towards a place where there are no quilted jackets and only super chic coats are allowed, in dusty and springy colors, away from predictable places, envious people way too close, as they never should be, away from vulgarity and its various shapes.

If I had a pair of wings, I would fly away to find out all the beauty of this restless world, because beauty is everywhere, you just need to have eyes trained to recognize it.

It can be found throughout the pages of a book, which maybe would tell you nothing if read in another moment, in a bare tree that starts blossoming, in a rainy day, so grey it makes you cheerful, in your father’s eyes when listening to you mother mumbling after 50 years together, in a designer’s face who already sees his masterpiece in a fabric, in light sneaking in through the clouds, in one of those days when you can let the hours just drift, slow and lazy.

There is so much beauty in every single day a pair of wing simply is not enough to find it all out, this is why dragonflies have an extra pair of wings, so they can fly everywhere, and this is why we love having them tattooed on our skin, wearing them as shiny pendants or brooches, or on our fluttery blouses and circle skirts; to remember ourselves that sometimes one pair of wings is not enough!
