The blooming wall

Every stylist who is worth of its name knows how crucial it is to find the “right” location for the right outfit. Actually, the idea of “right” today is quite controversial: the current trend is, instead, to “decontextualize”, that is: the more it is far from the concept, the better it is. In other words, either the location or the outfit should be “wrong”.

Today, I did exactly what a good stylist would never do. I spotted a “blooming wall”, decided I loved it and wished to have it in my pics of the week, I found a perfectly matching outfit and took my pictures: not even the light was perfect, but I write for my blog, not for Vogue, and after all, I needed something to be “wrong”.

On the contrary, the trench is always right, especially in those days when the weather skips from 22° to the Deluge. How to wear it? Well, as shown by Inès de la Fressange, a woman I admire for her timeless style, with an intentionally crumpled collar and a knotted belt, never fully tied as a good girl, because, remember, there should always be something “wrong” in your outfits.
